Ty,
All you need to know is … run. Run away as fast as you can. MLM is based on the promise of easy money, or getting rich by expending little or no effort. The only ones who make money are the early promoters who write the books and record the CDs that MLM “downline” recruits are “encouraged” to buy to “grow their business.” The true business ends up being nothing more than selling overpriced books and CDs to the impressionable and gullible…
Network marketing is a very powerful way to create passive income. Usually it takes about 12-18 months to see any serious financial return, although a business associate of mine now makes $120k a month after only 3 years.
Like any business it takes hard work and dedication. There are other “work at home” business models with commission structures which pay you quicker, but these are usually more residual rather than passive income generators.
My number one piece of advice before joining any network marketing company would be to look at their “policies and procedures” section (usually found on their website) if it is any longer than five pages, beware! They obviously have something to hide (they range from 2 - 150 pages)
